Lomond is truly a special place. Tuition and training for both horse and rider are exceptional, Alex has such a intuitive feel for the sensitive Iberian horses and a depth of experience with them built over decades.
What is even more amazing is that she also instinctively knows how to help the rider too and can encourage, empower and enthuse as needed. I owe her and the Lomond team so much, without them I would not have had the courage to have my first PRE ( a youngster) something I could never have dreamt possible as she was only my second horse.
Whether you are just starting out with horses or are an experienced rider looking for those nuanced higher level skills, getting to grips with the basics or honing your half passes Lomond is the friendliest (most unintimidating) and best place to be.
I recommend Lomond over all other equestrian centres because Alex closely observes the horse and rider movements as a working partnership. She concentrates for a full hour and is very diplomatic in offering improvements. She trains in the classically correct manner. She doesn’t use gimmicks or quick fixes and believes in the progression of horse and rider. She is intuitive and kind. If you thought you knew it all, Alex will explore more possibilities to get you thinking!
Our boy came to Lomond 4 weeks after back surgery to complete his rehabilitation. The ladies at Lomond made us feel extremely welcome and our prize possession was cared for to high care standards. Alex has such a vast experience rehabbing horses in recovery and worked at a pace that worked for him in hand to start with. She confidently developed his strength with good exercises and increased his confidence over time. She has a natural gift connecting and listening to what thehorses are trying to tell us, that I am still just in awe of.
The riding lessons provided by Alex and Lauren work with both what the rider needs to improve but they also teach you to listen and work with your horse so that they learn to use their own body better to protect them from injury and build balance and strength correctly.
I couldn’t recommend Lomond more for any services they offer. We are still regular visitors for lessons and water treadmill and look forward to every time.
Should you need a confidence boosting lesson on a well trained Spanish horse that is a pleasure to ride, or you are a beginner, I would always recommend going to Alex. She teaches in a no-pressure atmosphere and brings back your joy in riding. In fact, I have already recommended a number of people and they were all very happy.
Lomond stables was such a find. I took up riding again as an adult and tried many stables before I finally found Lomond. I knew after my first lesson there what a special place it was.
The horses are beautiful and really well cared for and everyone is really friendly and helpful. Alex Gaché is an amazing instructor, her patience is endless and I have learnt so much from her and the people at Lomond.
I can honestly say that I would not want to ride anywhere else.
